President's Message | A New Face at PPCP | PPCP Selected as an Industry Top 10 Company | PPCP
Top 20 Customers 2005

A Message from Our President, Richard L. Miller, Jr.

Once again we are in the summer months at PPCP. These are days when it is difficult to keep things running on an even keel. There are days when multiple employees from any given department are on vacation and those who are at work in the pouring department through the inspection department find it hard to put in the long hours in the heat and humidity of summer. I personally express my appreciation for those who labor in
the hot conditions.

I would like to take the opportunity in this article to bring everyone up to date on a few organizational changes here at PPCP.

First, I have made some changes in Paul Pfautz’s responsibilities as director of technical services. He is now overseeing the office functions of order entry, scheduling and process sheet printing. He will be looking for ways to streamline this process and integrate the production control functions with QA display and the new cost accounting system. He will also be working to get the final bugs worked out of the cost accounting system. He will assume a more direct role in the quoting process, again with the objective of having this function integrate better into our other systems. He will continue to oversee the tooling and setup functions.

Andrew Miller, serving as director of QA/QC, will have direct oversight of inspection as well as the other quality assurance and quality control departments.

Branden Hibshman will be serving in the capacity of office manager and, in addition to his normal responsibilities in accounts payable and payroll, will be overseeing the billing, accounts receivable and time and attendance functions.

Finally, Dianne Fisher, who has worked for many years in our industry, has joined PPCP as our sales manager. She will be serving as the primary link between PPCP and our customers. We welcome Dianne to our team.

Let me conclude by reminding you that the details for our company picnic, which will be held in Schaefferstown at the Fire Hall, are to be found on pages 3 and 4 in this newsletter. Please try to include this event in your family’s schedule. I always enjoy the opportunity to spend time with you and meet the extended family of PPCP.

Dick Miller

A New Face at PPCP

PPCP is excited about the most recent addition to our staff. Dianne Fisher has agreed to join with PPCP in the capacity of sales manager starting in the end of June. We are certain that customers are going to enjoy her warm personality as well as the foundry knowledge she brings to this role.

Dianne will be specifically involved with customer relations. She will oversee the expediting requests of customers. She will take calls and emails from customers and relay any scheduling changes to the production staff. Dianne will also spend time contacting customers through visits or phone calls to get to know their personnel and staff in a way that lets PPCP serve our customers better.

Dianne has worked for investment casting foundries for most of her working career. Her career started at Post Precision Castings, Inc. Dianne worked for Post for 30 years before deciding to move on for another opportunity. From Post, Dianne worked for Harcast and Precision Technologies before deciding to make the move to PPCP. Her years of experience will certainly be an asset to her as she starts her career with PPCP.

Dianne lives in Stouchsburg, PA. She is married to her husband Eric and has a daughter and a stepdaughter. Dianne enjoys the beach, working around the house, and spending time with friends. We are excited for everyone to get the chance to meet Dianne in the very near future.

PPCP Selected as an Industry Top 10 Company

PPCP was recently given an award for Sales Growth by the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce put together a panel to determine what companies within their region were progressive in bringing commerce into the region. The Chamber of Commerce determined that PPCP was an organization worthy of recognition.

The Top 50 companies were determined by the Chamber of Commerce and ranked according to their significance to the region. PPCP was ranked number 10 out of the Top 50 companies in the Greater Reading Area.

PPCP was presented with the award at a dinner in Reading that featured guest speakers Newt Gingrich and James Carville. PPCP is proud to be recognized by the Chamber of Commerce. What is most interesting and significant is that PPCP was the only manufacturing company recognized in the Top 10. All of the other organizations were service industries. In a time when many manufacturing jobs are being outsourced we are proud to be growing and serving our customers.
